Episode 2: Who's Responsible for Homelessness?

An Inside Look at Homelessness, Housing Policy, and Affordability

This is episode two of the Sault Ste. Marie podcast.

Admittedly, it’s a long one. But it’s well worth the listen if you want to make sense of what’s happening locally in the realm of homelessness and housing affordability.

In this episode, you’ll hear from Alison Smith (Assistant Professor, University of Toronto - Mississauga), Katie Blunt (Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity - Sault Ste. Marie and Area), and Luke Dufour (Ward 2 City Councillor - Sault Ste. Marie).

Disclaimer: The audio quality of the final interview with Luke Dufour isn’t amazing, but the content quality definitely is. Despite being on the road, Luke graciously offered to make time for an important conversation - and I’m happy that he did.

There are several other podcast episodes being developed right now, so you can expect a slightly faster pace in the next couple months.

Episode three will explore the legacy of Steel Town Down, the documentary that shook Sault Ste. Marie five years ago.

Stay tuned.
